A boundary that feels alive

Small irregularities can turn a mechanical transition into something that feels organic.

The source idea

The nanotech lesson distorts a distance mask with noise and separates transparency, surface color and bump into controlled bands.

Our interpretation

Our shell uses staggered timing to create an uneven transition without depending on a Blender-only shader. The cool inner material and warm accent plates make the two states readable in the browser.

Look closely

Pause during the opening and change to rim lighting. Look at the edge separation rather than the center.

What this study demonstrates

This is a geometric interpretation. The original procedural alpha and bump shader is not embedded in this GLB.
