The anatomy of a reveal
A transformation feels convincing when its boundary has thickness, texture and a deliberate pace.
The source idea
The suit-up lesson uses an Empty-driven spatial mask and a narrow displacement band to coordinate several reveal layers.
Our interpretation
Chrysalis translates that layered thinking into eighty solid platinum petals. Each plate opens on its own staggered schedule, exposing the ribbed blue core. Translation and a small alternating twist give the reveal depth rather than a simple transparency fade.
Scrub to the middle of the loop. Compare the open silhouette with the closed shell, then orbit to inspect the gaps.
What this study demonstrates
Our plate motion is authored geometry animation; it does not reproduce the tutorial’s body rig or procedural deletion graph.
