Let light build the room

A landscape’s rhythm can come from light as well as geometry.

Live interpretation / interact with the view

The source idea

The sand-filled-environment lesson layers displacement, controls architectural boundaries and uses gobos to place patterned light.

Our interpretation

Horizon Lines is an existing browser field study in which a simple repeated surface changes its reading through interaction. Its limited vocabulary makes the relationship between shape, spacing and illumination easy to see.

Look closely

Raise the field and follow the brightest lines across the changing surface.

What this study demonstrates

This is a related field interpretation. It contains no sand room, footprint displacement or volumetric light-ray render.
