Protect the brightest part
The rendering handoff should preserve the intent of the light.
The source idea
The EXR lesson compares linear highlight range with display-referred images and demonstrates codec and color-transform tradeoffs.
Our interpretation
Chrysalis has an emissive core beside reflective metal, making it a useful reference for highlight handling. The gallery uses a Cycles PNG fallback and a live web presentation; they are two deliberately different rendering paths.
Compare the still fallback with the live view. Evaluate the core’s readability and the metal’s edge detail, not just brightness.
What this study demonstrates
An EXR-to-Resolve round trip has not been validated. The historical Filmic workflow should not be copied into an AgX pipeline without checking transforms.
