Make flow visible
A path is interesting when it reveals the space it moves through.
Live interpretation / interact with the view
The source idea
The smoke-tunnel lesson places a smoke inflow and obstacle inside a domain, then bakes and lights the volume to reveal the flow.
Our interpretation
Light Ribbon is an existing browser motion study that makes a changing path visible without a heavy volume cache. The visitor guides the line, allowing bends and direction changes to become the composition.
Guide the ribbon through a broad arc and then a tight turn. Notice how the path communicates direction.
What this study demonstrates
The web illustration is not smoke, aerodynamic analysis or a baked Blender fluid simulation.
