Fluidity as an art direction

A fluid-looking surface can be designed without pretending it is physically simulated.

The source idea

The fluid-like-effects lesson uses cloth pressure, forces, shrinkwrap and dynamic-paint waves as stylized alternatives to a liquid solver.

Our interpretation

Continuum uses a continuous metal ribbon and periodic morph displacement. Its flow is explicitly authored: the wave travels through the form, while a slow rotation changes the highlights.

Look closely

Pause at several points in the loop. Compare the changing contour with the stable ring framework around it.

What this study demonstrates

No cloth, fluid, collision or Alembic cache is running. The portable deformation is carried by GLB morph targets.
