Drape

A linen sail rests between four tension masts. Gravity draws it into a soft canopy above timber seating; its folds come from a cached cloth simulation.

The source idea

The inspected setup positions a hanging proxy and adds Cloth. This study develops an original suspended fabric sail with four reinforced corner pins.

Our interpretation

A 32-by-32 quad fabric mesh uses a real Blender Cloth modifier, gravity and a keyed Wind field. Sixteen vertices reinforce its four corner pins. The master contains the simulation setup and a baked 151-frame cache. Eight evaluated physical poses become portable morph targets, replayed forward and backward over eight seconds.

Look closely

Scrub from the flat starting pose to the middle of the loop and watch gravity draw the fabric down between its pinned corners. Orbit under the sail to inspect the contact at each tension cable.

What this study demonstrates

The master uses actual Blender cloth physics. The website plays sampled simulation poses rather than calculating physics in JavaScript; its return motion is an authored reverse replay for a continuous loop.
